What is Egmond Vintage Wings?

We are Egmond Vintage Wings. We are an enthusiast group of people, talents, aeroplanes and places, all striving to achieve one common goal: keep all these great and wonderful vintage wings airworthy. The Egmond Vintage Wings organization keeps these wonderful aeroplanes operational and turns all of it into living history.

Egmond Vintage Wings is a collection with a lot of variation. From warbirds to civil vintage aeroplanes. These machines are all privately owned. But together we are Egmond Vintage Wings.

Supported closely by EVW maintenance with its technical knowledge and experience. With our exclusive collection, we are based at Hoogeveen Airport. We will fly our beloved Fairchild PT26a, our D-DAY survivor the Piper L4 Cub, and much more beauties. Of our entire collection we have the Fokker D.21 as our flagship. With its beauty and power it is the most unique Dutch warbird around the entire globe. With the D.21 flying in winter 2020, we also hope to include in the not too distant future the Fairchild 24 and BT13 that are now undergoing a restoration.

It would be our privilege to share these incredible experiences with you, and to welcome you at Hoogeveen Airport.

''Flying is pure passion and desire, which fill a lifetime''

Memorial flights, airshows and displays

With the D.21 as our flagship you might have seen at the Flying to Remember page that the D.21 is employable for memorial flights, airshows and displays. But our entire fleet is also employable for these kinds of flying!

One of the missions of the Egmond Vintage Wings is to remember those who gave their lifes for our freedom during the second world war.

What is a memorial flight? A memorial flight is a tribute of honor to those who fought for our freedom. A memorial flight takes us back to what has happened in the past.

Our entire fleet is employable for all kinds of flying

From 2020, from March to November each year, the D.21 can be regularly seen in the skies over the Netherlands for the first time. Celebrating and commemorating public and military events. At the moment we have also the Fairchild 24 and Vultee BT13 in restoration, when finished, both will join the operational part of the fleet.

Our memorial flights, airshows and displays honors us to the thousands of men and women, in the air and on the ground, who gave their lives for our freedom.

With a lot of passion and pride we fly these airshows, memorial flights and displays!

Jack Van Egmond

Father of the Egmond Vintage Wings

Dreams take flight''

As a little child he dreamt of flying and soar above the skies. Aeroplanes became his biggest passion. As a 14 year child he bought himself the very first drawing of the Fokker D.21.

Jack his passion and desire resulted in a wonderful aviation career, the restoration of Spitfire MK732 and flying it for 100 hours has been of of his biggest things. He has infected the entire family with the passion for vintage aviation, the aviation virus. He has prepared them for the future. Nowadays Jack has created a wonderful collection together with his family and friends.

The top of his career is of course his Fokker D.21, the aeroplane he dreamt of. And this dream is truly coming true!!

Jack is a man of passion , of courage, and with so much love for the historical aviation. Thanks to Jack, Egmond Vintage Wings has been set up with only one goal: pass on his passion for vintage aviation to the next generation and keep these vintage wings up in air!

"Don't believe you can't , believe in your dreams, cause it gives you the spirit to achieve anything, so keep dreaming, while dreams really can come true''
